THE IMAGE IS TOUGH TO REMOVE by ST

Got an e-mail this morning. One of those sarcastic, home-made type that makes the rounds. It's gist was members of the Oregon football team were about to star in the newest remake of "The Longest Yard", comprising most of the inmates. Ouch! Unfortunately with what's happening on a nearly daily basis, this is the newest public perception of this program. The LeMichael James situation will run through the legal system and hopefully the truth will come out. The most recent mess involves a DUI for linebacker Kiko Alonso which lead to a nasty Facebook posting by Jamere Holland which got JH kicked off the team. Nice timing. Coach Chip Kelly holds a press conference, the president of the university issues a statement regarding player conduct and this is the follow up? Yuck! I guarantee the folks in Seattle, Corvallis and other anti-ducks points are eating this up.
As for the loss against Cal at home on Saturday, it's starting to be like a broken record. Play a team dead even for about 34 of the 40 minutes of game time, but then hit a period of invisibility. I guess this was worse considering Oregon didn't make a bucket the final quarter of the game. The harsh fact is when this team needs to score, they have very, very limited options. Malcolm Armstead is just about the only guy able to create his own shot and his offense is far too inconsistent.
Gotta comment on the USA victory over Canada in Olympic Hockey. It's still early, but the Americans are playing pretty inspired hockey and getting solid work in the net from Buffalo Sabre goalie, Ryan Miller. Across the board, the Yanks are putting on quite the show in Vancouver. I was looking forward to these games with a high level of anticipation and they've delivered thus far with lot's of drama and some big time entertainment. Hope you're enjoying them as much as I am.

"You can contact my wife Kathy for verification, but for now, you'll have to take my word for it. I have this ridiculous ability to judge a person's character within a few minutes depending on the circumstances and conversation." -- Steve Tannen, blowhard in Eugene.

Sorry bro, you're full of egotistical crap!

You continue to throw Tony Dungy (and his character) under the bus. Dungy is one of the most revered and admired men in all of sports.

Your utter disgraceful misfire on Dungy's character, removes any and all credibility you arrogantly give yourself in analyzing the hearts of others.

Go back to the drawing board Steve, and take a better and more honest look inwardly, and you'll find you're judging others not based on reality, but on your own impure biases.

It's a disturbing pattern of yours to be hyper-quick to demean and distort the character of those that are Christian, like Dungy.

It's not Vick, why you hate Dungy so much, it's is faith that bothers you (and that's a sad commentary on your character or there lack of).

It's the height of irony, that a douche like yourself, would have the arrogant gall to throw man of integrity, like Dungy under the bus. You wouldn't know integrity if it wiped your ass.

Dungy is to Vick, what Cumulus is to Steve Tannen. But you don't get it, you arrogant punk, you think you're the only human on the face of the earth deserving of a second chance --- what a joke you are!

I agree, your ability to judge other's character, is indeed ridiculous --- ridiculously intolerant of anything and everything Christian --- what a disgrace!

It's one thing to be full of hate behind closed doors, but to lack the discipline and composure to not take your hate-filled views public, speaks to what a disgrace you've become.

I truly doubt you'll get a third chance somewhere else, so you might consider becoming an adult that's able to demonstrate some sort of control over his tongue, so it doesn't continue to betray the prevalent darkness that lies within your narrow-minded pin-headed ways.

Kyle, quit listening. The radio reception in your mom's basement probably sucks anyway, so go back to polishing your jack-boots, and ironing your swastikas.

Florida's football program has been plagued by 27 arrests under Urban Meyer's 5 year tenure. These arrests include former QB Cameron Newton, ironically charged with stealing another student's laptop, DE Carlos Dunlap, who was found passed out drunk in an intersection, and DT Gary Brown, arrested for allegedly assaulting two women. It is worth noting that Dunlap was severely punished with a one game suspension. I know Florida is not the gold standard(of behavior) and I'm not saying that the recent infractions by UO players should be tolerated. However, I think it a tad premature to be calling for Chip Kelly's head... I won't name names(Canzano), but you know who you are.
